Returning AP Exams with DHL

This page provides information on steps to take after the exams. Review complete information in the AP Coordinator’s Manual, Part 2.

The information on this page is for AP coordinators and additional authorized staff (if applicable) who are responsible for returning AP Exam materials via DHL to the AP Program.

For the 2026 AP Exam administration, schools outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico that don't receive pre-printed labels with their AP Exam materials will use a new AP DHL Return Portal to generate and print their DHL return labels and schedule the pickup of their AP Exam return shipment(s). It is strongly recommended that users review the guide linked below before using the new portal for the first time.

Download Now: Review the Returning Your AP Exams Using DHL guide for complete information about accessing the new AP DHL Return Portal, generating and printing your DHL return labels, and scheduling the pickup of your AP Exam materials return shipment(s).

Important Information About Generating Return Labels

You should plan to generate your return labels after you create your packing list(s) in AP Registration and Ordering but before you pack your return carton(s). In the new AP DHL Return Portal, you’ll start a new return for each carton you’re returning, and you’ll need to know how many items are packed in each carton.

Returning Users:

  • You must use the new AP DHL Return Portal and not the previously used ETS Returns via DHL portal. The new AP DHL Return Portal does not require a separate account to log in.
  • Delete any bookmarks you may have to the previously used portal and make sure you are now using the new AP DHL Return Portal to ensure your AP Exam return shipments are received.
