2021 AP Exams

Almost all colleges in the U.S. award credit and placement for qualifying AP scores. The 2021 AP Exams will cover the full course content so that students are accurately placed into higher-level courses where they can succeed when they get to college. We owe it to both students and colleges to accurately indicate whether students have learned the course material and should thus be exempted from learning it in college.

To give every student the opportunity to succeed while remaining safe and healthy this school year, we are providing more flexibility and instructional support than ever before:

  • If health and safety conditions allow, your school can offer in-person testing—and if not, that’s OK. We’ll offer options so all students can test, even if school buildings are closed. More information will be available in early 2021.
  • If a student decides not to test or to cancel their exams, there are no fees.
  • New resources in AP Classroom, such as free, online AP Daily videos and practice questions, will cover each topic in each AP course.

AP Daily Videos in AP Classroom

New AP Daily videos cover every topic in the course and can be paired with practice questions to identify student misunderstandings. Videos can be assigned as homework, giving teachers more time to have focused discussions and connect with their students.

AP Daily Video Release Schedule

Videos for Units 1–5 are now available in AP Classroom. We’ll release additional videos by unit throughout the year to support your students.

Help Your Students Get Online

Not every student has access to the technology they need to take part in remote learning. To remove barriers, we’re partnering with organizations to help your school and district connect students to internet access, devices, and other resources.
