Adopt AP Latin

Students read epic stories and real Roman voices in the language that shaped the ancient world.

What Is AP Latin?

In this course, students explore the ancient world through literature. They translate and analyze Latin poetry and prose, while exploring Roman history, mythology, politics, and literature through close reading and discussion. AP Latin includes works by Pliny the Younger and Vergil, whose letters and epic poetry have shaped how the world understands ancient Rome and Western civilization.
