AP Chinese and AP Japanese Language and Culture

The 2026 AP Chinese and AP Japanese Language and Culture Exams will be administered as they have been in the past—on school-owned and -controlled devices via the AP Chinese and Japanese exam application. These exams are not delivered through Bluebook. 

AP coordinators will be emailed in March with details about installing the exam application on testing computers before exam day and the link to download the 2025-26 AP Chinese and AP Japanese Exams: Setup and Administration Guide. If you haven’t received an email by the end of March, please contact AP Services for Educators.

Ordering

AP Chinese and AP Japanese Exams are ordered through AP Registration and Ordering in the same way as all other AP Exams. For more information about ordering AP Exams, visit Ordering and Fees.

System Requirements

These exams may be administered on school-owned and -controlled Chromebooks, Macs, and Windows PCs that meet the requirements outlined in the AP Chinese and AP Japanese Exams: Setup and Administration Guide. Internet connectivity is required during the setup process and exam administration. Chromebooks must be under the management control of Google Workspace for Education. 

Accommodations

Extended time, additional breaks, adjustable screen color, screen magnification, large-print exams, screen reader, audio transcript, repetition of aural stimuli, and multiple-day testing are available through the exam application for students approved for these accommodations by the College Board SSD office.
