AP Networking Exam Overview
The AP Networking Exam for the 2027-28 school year will be a fully digital exam in Bluebook that will be administered in May 2028. Students with qualifying exam scores will earn college credit and the AP Networking Credential.
About the Exam
The AP Networking Exam will assess essential technical skills in computer networking and information technology. The exam will put students in the position of a network technician or administrator, leveraging career-connected scenarios to test their skills and their ability to make evidence-based, contextually aware decisions.
The digital exam will be divided into two sections:
- Multiple Choice: Questions will be based on networking scenarios.
- Free Response: Questions will use realistic networking artifacts and evidence for students to analyze and provide responses.
Throughout the exam, students will demonstrate their ability to manage device and network connections, mitigate vulnerabilities by implementing relevant and effective security controls, and troubleshoot issues to solve device and network problems.
