- AP Business with Personal Finance Credential
About the Exam
The AP Business with Personal Finance Exam will require application of essential skills in management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and finance, and it will leverage career-connected scenarios to assess a student’s ability to make evidence-based, contextually aware decisions.
The digital exam will be divided into two sections:
- Multiple Choice: These questions test both knowledge and application.
- Free Response: These questions ask students to analyze and respond to realistic business scenarios, artifacts, and evidence, including one question focused on the execution of their Business Canvas Project.
About the Projects
Throughout the course, students will complete two projects. First, they will apply their learning of business concepts to an entrepreneurial project, the Business Canvas Project, which is a modified Business Model Canvas.1 The project will engage students in experiences that parallel tasks business leaders perform including product development, customer research, marketing, and preparing financial documents.
The course will culminate with a Financial Advisor Project, in which students will provide financial recommendations to a fictional household based on a financial profile. The recommendation will help the fictional household develop strategies to manage its budget and meet financial goals related to post-secondary education, home-buying, and retirement.
