Workshops

Led by College Board-Endorsed Consultants, our workshops can help you to:

  • Make equitable access a guiding principle in your school's AP program
  • Prepare your students for success in college-level courses
  • Develop instructional approaches that align with the goals of AP
  • Identify the tasks and materials for which students might need more preparation
  • Draft a syllabus that meets the curricular requirements for the course
  • Successfully coordinate your schools’ AP exam administration

Public Workshops

Registration is open to anyone interested in attending these workshops designed to help teachers, coordinators, and administrators develop and deepen their programs to prepare students for the rigors of college.

Private Workshops

Private workshops are delivered to specific customers, such as a school or district, and they determine who will attend. For example, a district might sponsor a private workshop for all of its AP World History teachers.

To schedule a private workshop, contact your district representative or email your College Board Regional Office for further assistance.

AP Summer Institutes

AP Summer Institutes provide teachers with at least 30 hours of pedagogical- and content-rich training designed to strengthen how they teach AP courses.

College Board-endorsed consultants will guide attendees through College Board resources such as course outlines, content-related handouts, and student samples, scoring guidelines, and commentary from the most recent AP Exam free-response questions.

Each institute is managed individually by staff at the sponsoring institution that have signed an endorsement agreement with the College Board to ensure quality and consistency among the locations.

All AP Summer Institutes listed on the AP Professional Development Event Calendar are endorsed.

Teachers of AP Capstone™ courses – AP Seminar and AP Research – are required to take part in professional development offered by select AP Summer Institutes, the summer before their teaching either course. Learn more.

College Board-Endorsed Workshop Consultants

Endorsed workshop consultants help train both new and experienced educators, sharing their expertise and best practices with other education professionals, and must meet a number of requirements.

Endorsed Providers of AP Computer Science Principles

In order to ensure that schools, teachers, and students have additional high-quality options for implementing AP Computer Science Principles, the College Board is in the process of endorsing curriculum and professional development delivered by a limited number of organizations. In order to be an endorsed provider an organization needs to demonstrate that its curriculum and professional development are aligned to the AP Computer Science Principles course and exam. Find out more.
