We surveyed AP Economics teachers about what online resources they recommend, and the list below comes directly from their responses. The list also includes teacher descriptions of the resources. This is not a comprehensive list, nor is it an endorsement of any of these resources by the College Board.

ACDC Econ by Jacob Clifford

  • Instructional videos for students; self-directed student practice
  • Offers free “short, entertaining, informative videos” on course topics. Also has worksheets, practice problems, and a review packet available for purchase.

  • Free lesson plans, classroom activities, and webinars for teachers.

Econ Lowdown

  • Free student and teacher resources from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Includes video and audio resources with short quizzes; articles and other text- based resources; classroom activities; and the FREDcast® interactive forecasting game.

Federal Reserve Education

  • Online simulation/laboratory experiment; online instructions tutorials/resources pages for teachers
  • Compilation of free educational resources from throughout the Federal Reserve System.

Khan Academy — Economics and Finance

  • Instructional videos for students; self-directed student practice
  • Free instructional videos that provide “excellent explanations of concepts, modeling of graphs, and practice questions with explanations.”

Marginal Revolution University

  • Instructional videos for students; self-directed student practice
  • Free content videos that provide “visuals and real-world connections to specific concepts” with multiple-choice questions at the end for practice.

Reffonomics

  • Self-directed student practice; instructional videos for students
  • Includes short videos and interactives to review and practice the course material. Also has an online textbook available for purchase.
