Online Resources Recommended by AP Teachers

We surveyed AP Spanish Literature and Culture teachers about what online resources they recommend, and the list below comes directly from their responses. The list also includes teacher descriptions of the resources. This is not a comprehensive list, nor is it an endorsement of any of these resources by the College Board.

Albert.io $  

  • Self-directed student practice
  • Provides access to practice exams with multiple-choice and free-response questions for student practice.

Artehistoria

  • Online digital library and archives
  • Provides students with links to museums around the world, with images, background descriptions, and information about famous artwork, artists, historical figures. Also includes educational videos about famous historical people, places, and events from around the Spanish-speaking world, providing contextual information about many of the required course readings, authors, and themes.

Cervantes Virtual

  • Online digital library and archives
  • Easy to navigate and provides students with access to most of the required course readings along with information about the works and authors. The archive includes literary works, journals, newspaper articles and other archives with a wealth of information about the authors and the time periods in which the lived and wrote.

Ciudad Seva

  • Online digital library
  • This site provides access to full texts and fragments of many of the works on the required reading list for the course as well as discussions of literary concepts and reviews. Digital libraries of literature in Spanish and other literary resources.

Fundación Juan March

  • Online digital library and archives
  • Provides students virtual access to listen to lectures in Spanish on literature from the pan-Hispanic world. Includes lectures on many of the authors, works, genres, periods, and movements from the course such as Lazarillo de Tormes, Don Quijote, the Picaresque novel, Spanish Realism, Galdos, Picasso, and others.

El Museo del Prado

  • Online museum website
  • Provides virtual access to view Spanish and International art masterpieces and participate in virtual tours of exhibits. Allows students to “have some exposure to critical art review before trying to compare paintings with literary works.”

Youtube Channel – Mary Estrada

  • Instructional videos for students
  • Provides “very informative” readings and analysis of many of the required course texts; examines course themes in relationship to the readings.

Youtube Channel – Javier Ruescas

  • Instructional videos for students
  • Provides students with literary reviews of several of the longer required course readings, including La casa de Bernarda Alba, El Quijote, and Lazarillo de Tormes, as well as videos that discuss literary concepts and analysis with “a fresh style special for young students of literature.”
