Online Resources Recommended by AP Teachers

We surveyed AP European History teachers about what online resources they recommend, and the list below comes directly from their responses. The list also includes teacher descriptions of the resources. This is not a comprehensive list, nor is it an endorsement of any of these resources by the College Board.

Crash Course: European History

  • Instructional videos for students; instructional videos for teachers
  • Brief instructional videos that cover information for students. The videos break down European History age by age, in 15-minute blocks of time. “The content is aligned to the course and follows the narrative in student texts; kids really like it.” Covers topics from the Renaissance to the formation of European Union.

Georgia Virtual Learning: AP European History

  • Online instructions tutorials/resources pages for teachers
  • Run by experienced AP Euro teacher and exam reader, this is a module-based, full course covering all aspects of AP Euro. It has content overview and review, interactive activities for students, brief content videos, links to additional resources, practice assessments and more.

Albert io $  

  • Self-directed student practice; instructional videos for students
  • Offers practice multiple choice questions as well as SAQs, LEQs and DBQs. Great practice that provides a teacher immediate data and feedback on students' strengths and areas to work on.

The Map as History

  • Instructional interactive resource for students; instructional interactive resource for teachers)
  • A series of animated maps. This site provides key historical information without distraction. Students or teachers can select just the content they find useful.

Marco Learning $  

  • Online instructions tutorials/resources pages for teachers
  • Provides a variety of videos and other resources for teachers and students to help them prepare for the AP tests.

TomRichey.net $  

  • Instructional videos for students; self-directed student practice
  • Review videos on content and test methods. Easy for students to understand. Can be used to extend lessons or connect to course themes. There is a fee for accessing some of the content, but most is free.
