AP Participant Grants

Learn about participant grants for AP Summer Institutes.

College Board awards grants for qualifying teachers new to an AP subject to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI). The request form is open March–June or until all grants have been distributed.

Who Is Eligible

To qualify you must:

  • be teaching an AP course for the first time in 2026-27
  • not have attended an APSI or received College Board funding for the same course
  • not have received professional learning funding from your school, district, or state

What Participant Grants Cover

AP participant grants cover College Board–endorsed AP Summer Institutes in the United States and internationally. They don’t cover the AP Annual Conference, Pre-AP classes, one-day workshops, or other workshops.

Participant grants cover the cost of tuition only. All other APSI costs (including but not limited to travel, lodging, food, or graduate credit) are the responsibility of the grant recipient.
