AP Participant Grants

Learn about participant grants for AP Summer Institutes.

College Board awards grants for qualifying teachers new to an AP subject to attend an AP Summer Institute (APSI). The application is open February–May or until all grants have been distributed.

What Participant Grants Cover

AP participant grants cover College Board–endorsed AP Summer Institutes in the United States and internationally. They don’t cover the AP Annual Conference, Pre-AP classes, one-day workshops, or other workshops.

Participant grants cover the cost of tuition only. All other APSI costs (including but not limited to travel, lodging, and food) are the responsibility of the grant recipient.

The participant grants are distributed by individual AP Summer Institute host institutions. They are not renewable or transferable and only cover tuition for the APSI you selected in the year they are awarded.
