Become an AP Mentor

If you’re an experienced AP teacher, consider applying to be an AP mentor. The 2024-25 application is now open until June 15.

Join the AP Mentoring Community

Registration to join a mentor group for the 2024-25 school year will open this summer. When it’s time to register, you’ll follow these steps:

Step 1

Register for a session based on what you’d like to focus on and your experience level in your subject.

Step 2

Select a mentor group that aligns with your schedule and your preferred mentor on our AP Mentoring online platform.

Step 3

Meet with your mentor group once a month using our AP Mentoring online platform.

Step 4

Attend all four meetings and complete a feedback survey to receive your certificate of 0.4 CEUs.

AP Mentoring Session Options

Understanding & Planning the Course

Available: Fall Semester and Spring Semester
Experience Level: New or Experienced
Focused on the course and exam description, curricular requirements, and course planning. Learn how to better manage and plan your course.

Teaching the Course

Available: Fall Semester and Spring Semester
Experience Level: New or Experienced
Focused on instructional strategies, tools, and best practices to be used in your classroom.

Assessing Student Understanding

Available: Fall Semester and Spring Semester
Experience Level: New or Experienced
Focused on the scoring rubrics and reviewing student samples to help teachers work with their students to succeed on the AP Exam.

Fee Waiver

Eligible high school teachers can apply for a fee waiver to participate in the AP Mentoring program. The fee waiver application for 2024-25 is now open until May 31.
