Online Resources Recommended by AP Teachers

We surveyed AP Spanish Language and Culture teachers about what online resources they recommend, and the list below comes directly from their responses. The list also includes teacher descriptions of the resources. This is not a comprehensive list, nor is it an endorsement of any of these resources by the College Board.

Albert.io $  

  • Self-directed student practice
  • Provides a wealth of audio and print texts. “Lots of multiple-choice work. Helps teachers with data tracking.”

CNNespanol

  • Self-directed learning
  • Up-to-date news stories in Spanish that span the various themes of the course.

Conjuguemos $  

  • Self-directed student practice
  • Provides library of listening exercises. Teachers can create content with AP vocabulary. The premium version, with additional features, is a reasonable cost.

Extempore $  

  • Online simulation; self-directed student practice
  • Simulates the speaking environment for the AP Exam. An “easy way to give feedback on spoken responses.”

Google Voice  

  • Self-directed student practice
  • Offers additional platform for speaking practice. Teachers “can record prompts for the Cultural Comparison.” Gives students time to record their responses.”

Hablame

  • Online simulation; self-directed student practice
  • Provides “online practice for the Conversation and Cultural Comparison.” It provides past exam prompts in an “intuitive format for students to practice.”

Luisito comunica

  • YouTube channel-videos for students
  • Engaging videos about interesting topics, food, and travels by a young YouTuber from Mexico.

Practica Español

  • Self-directed student learning; instructional/news videos for students
  • A digital resource featuring news article accompanied by audios and/or videos, along with grammar notes for practicing and learning Spanish.

ProfeDeELE

  • Self-directed student practice
  • Activities and resources to practice Spanish. Students can practice different skills on their own at their own pace.

Radio Naciones Unidas

  • Self-directed student practice with audios, videos, texts
  • The United Nations news source in Spanish provides current news at the global level.

SpinTX Video Archive  

  • Online videos; self-directed student practice
  • An archive of video interviews by native/heritage speakers of Spanish searchable by topics and speaker demographics. “These videos can be downloaded and used in EdPuzzle with teacher-created questions.” Account creation needed to save and tag videos.

TED en español (charlas de TED en español)  

  • Online self-directed student learning; instructional videos for students across the required course themes
  • Thought leaders from various disciplines present on a range of topics in Spanish. Podcasts are available.

Ver-Taal

  • Online self-directed student practice; instructional videos for students
  • News, current events, and commercials provide real- world listening experiences and cultural perspectives.
